Andrea Sayago has been appointed as the new Chief Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel at Sound Point Capital Management (“Sound Point”), a credit-focused firm with more than $30 billion in assets.
Ms. Sayago comes to Sound Point from Cowen Investment Management, where she spent the previous 17 years, most in the position of Chief Compliance Officer. She oversaw and implemented a compliance programme for six related registered investment advisors at Cowen, which included a wide range of public market and private investment strategies.
As part of her new position, she will guide Sound Point’s compliance team in its continued efforts to sustain the company’s strong compliance culture, which is backed by best-in-class systems and procedures.
The University of Vermont awarded Ms. Sayago a bachelor’s degree, and the New York Law School awarded her a J.D. She started working at Debevoise & Plimpton as an attorney.
