Avantax®, a leader in tax-focused financial planning, just revealed that Melissa Loner, AIF®, will be taking on the roles of Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer.
Loner has more than 25 years of expertise in the financial services sector and has held many corporate leadership positions in addition to working as a financial planner. She has worked in due diligence, marketing, transitions, operations, supervision, compliance, and fiduciary services for a sizable amount of her career at the home offices of numerous independent businesses.
Loner joins Avantax from Premier Wealth Management®, where she served as Executive Vice President, Advisor Services. Prior to that, she worked at Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. as Vice President, Fiduciary Services and RIA Chief Compliance Officer.
Loner possesses FINRA Series 4, 6, 7, 24, 53, 63, and 65 licenses in addition to an MBA from American Military University and an AIF® qualification. She belongs to the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) and serves on its board of directors (2023 Chair-Elect). She is also a member of the Women in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS), NAIFA, and the Financial Services Institute (FSI).
