Names @Sionic_io Former @PayPal executive Susan Currey now serves as the chief compliance officer for a renowned supplier of omni-commerce, verified quick payments solutions.
Ronald Herman, the company’s founder and CEO, will now be Currey’s direct boss. Currey’s job include building corporate governance and regulatory framework for Sionic’s payments platform and real-time payment services as well as assessing risk associated with various business projects. She will also design and implement the company’s testing, risk, and compliance management programmes.
The first real-time payment solution for bank-to-bank digital currency deposits at the point of sale was introduced by Sionic. The timing of this coincides with retailers’ acceptance of more widely accepted digital payment solutions in response to customer demand. A persuasive argument in an era of growing inflation is that, in addition to receiving payments promptly, retailers may save on average 2% in costs over high card swipe fees. By authenticating the payer and payee in each real-time transaction, Sionic’s Verified Rapid Payments (VRP) services increase the security of digital payments.
“This is a pivotal moment in the payments industry,” Currey said. “I believe our compliance and regulatory programs will enrich our partnerships and customer experiences. Sionic is a leader in the digital payments market, and I am honored to join the leadership team as we introduce Verified Rapid Payments to financial institutions across the nation.”
Herman said, “We are thrilled to have Susan join the executive team. She is widely recognized in the payments industry for her sound judgment, ability to evaluate complex problems and to effectuate results. As financial institutions nationwide begin licensing our VRP Commerce Gateway to enable Pay-by-Bank (PbB) for their customers, Susan’s insightful approach to risk management and in-depth knowledge of the compliance and regulatory requirements will be vital during this high-growth period of the company, ensuring we are able to support our clients and partners through this evolving regulatory landscape.”
