Kirsty Everett has been named chief compliance officer and a member of the group executive committee of Barclays, pending approval by the UK FCA. Kirsty joins from HSBC, where she served as Group Head of Compliance.
Kirsty held a number of high profile compliance positions during her career at HSBC, including Compliance Chief Operating Officer. She started her career as a management accountant with Arthur Andersen and then Deloitte, transitioning from audit to consultancy, specialising in financial crime, regulatory investigations, and compliance and risk management initiatives.
Matt Fitzwater, who has been serving as interim chief compliance officer, will rejoin Barclays Legal as Group Centre General Counsel following a transitional period.
